Sun damaged vinyl repair
I keep my boat covered but on the tops of the two front benches the vinyl looks sunburnt. I've tried cleaning but as in a previous post I did I can't get it all up. Has anyone tried vinyl paint/dye? Either on their own or through a upholstery shop? The vinyl is 7 years old so I don't know if it's just normal wear and tear or not.

Re: Sun damaged vinyl repair
Your vinyl might have had a little premature wear and tear--sun bleached.
But you can do a complete dye job to restore the finish. The color can be completely changed if you wish. Vinyl stains/dye is available online and at upholstery supply houses in larger cities.
I had a seat tear in a late model Lexus with the light tan color perforated leather. Only a seat cover is offered thru Lexus parts @ $1700. I went to the local auto/marine upholstery shop, and he had a piece of Ford leather with the same pattern and a slightly different color. I've got to get Leatherique.com to custom mix a stain so I can match all the interior.
