Took about an hour out of my morning to get the boat ready to go. Fired her up on the muffs and let it go through all the signal checks. A-ok. Up to operating temp, all looks good! Shut it down and pulled off the cowlings. Fired it back up and checked the pencil coils... Guess what????
They are all good!!! Fuel pressure 60 pounds! Fuel float working excellent! Woo Hoo! None of last years demons are present... (thanks dude upstairs)
Shut it down and checked the rest out (oil level, air filter, ect) and hit the zerks again.
Tossed on my new prop to test!

Boys.... I'm ready to go!!!
Now, I just need to wait until the river drops and they open the ramps.... They are talking another week to 10 days. Which is fine, alot of crap floating down through the rollers yet. Don't need to be hitting anything and wrecking a good start to the season.

Hope everyone checks theirs before hitting the water and has the same results!

I'll be on my 3rd tank of gas for the summer by the time you ever get to hit the water . Glad everything ran great on the muffs for you. Wishing you a great maiden voyage for the season.

Fired mine up with the muffs on Tuesday evening and it started within 2 seconds. Let it run for a few minutes and all seemed good so it went in the water that evening and is now at it's dock.
Will hopefully be heading out tonight for a couple of hours.

The water is still a bit too cold for swimming though - about 16degC or 60degF.

While I'm at it may as well give her a coat of wax!

Last year we didn't get out on the water for the first time until May 31st and I didn't add fuel until mid-September. We've been out 5 times already this month and if the weather cooperates this evening may go out again.
First time out, I dropped her in the water. She started right up (I put a battery tender on in December) and runs like a top. Love the Yammer!

We felt some sprinkles Sunday afternoon, and ran about 1/2 mile out into the river. By that time, it was raining cats and dogs and we were all soaked to the bone. Still completed our 30 mile ride, however.

Mid South water temperatures are 80 degrees, as of today. Boat traffic, especially fishermen, has been pretty heavy.

We have the big FLW/Walmart fishing tournament at Pickwick today through Sunday, and there are fishing boats in every restaurant parking lot. I expect this to be another busy weekend on the lakes with local fishing tourneys.

And what do we see out in the middle of all that boat traffic? Someone with a paddle board bobbing around in the big waves.

Our lake is up to only 21 feet low! We've never seen it this high! They're expecting it to FILL this year!!!

You guys are really late. Mine has been on the slip for around 10 weeks, iv added 20 hours to the clock so far.

I feel bad for you folks from "up north". We've been hittin the water since the first week in April, finally got in about 2 weeks.......once the water temp was over 75F...........thank God I'm from The South

What are "muffs?"

They are used to run water through your lower unit, up to your powerhead so you can run the motor on a water hose. The look like a pair of ear muffs. So they too are called, muffs. I have mine handy. Next time I'm out, I'll get a quick pic for ya. Or just google boat muffs, should come up.

How do you get the white stuff off of your engine and make it shine like that? Mine is covered with water spots???

I just found out that our ramps may be closed until July 4th!

I just used Vinegar on a rag. Then washed it with soapy water and waxed it with Liquid Glass. I used WD-40 on the plastic cowl parts to clean and shine them up. Motor may smell like a salad, but sure looks good afterwards!
