Had to put down my best friend today after 10 wonderful years of companionship. She had the sweetest personality of any dog I have ever met and we will miss her dearly. She loved the boat and it will not be the same without her . My heart is broken .

Sorry to hear. We put one of our labs down just last summer due to bone cancer, she was the Yellow pup to the mom lab that we still have. We gave her a last ride in the toon, complete with grilled summer sausage and a sunset. We feel your loss!

Our last dog was a "Golden" Golden Retriever named Aspen.

We miss her, so we know you miss your girls.

You have our sympathy and empathy.

One of these days when we're not traveling as much, we'll get another dog, probably when we least expect it.

Hopefully, she'll be as good as yours!

Smoker... so sorry to hear about your puppy ( for some reason, I call them all puppys ).. I know you feel terrible.. we did too.. had to have our little mandy ( poodly -who knows what else.. ugliest little dog you ever saw ) put to sleep a few years back.. she was almost 18 years old and it really broke our hearts.... earlier i referred to her as an ugly dog... she was ugly, but she was OUR ugly dog and we loved her dearly. Sorry you had to go thru this... Hope you feel better soon...

We lost our beloved Pit Bull, Harley, last Summer of cancer. Then our #1 cat, Lucy, died.

Hank The Rottweiler moved inside and is now a fabulous house dog. But we've found he also has a mass in his stomach. Though he's a middle age dog, we don't know how long he has. In the meantime, Hank's frisky and active.

The trouble with having pets (and even family members) is that at one point in this life, we're going to lose'em. Or, they're going to lose us.

HEAVEN'S DOGGY-DOOR

My best friend closed his eyes last night,
As his head was in my hand.
The Doctors said he was in pain,
And it was hard for him to stand.
The thoughts that scurried through my head,
As I cradled him in my arms.
Were of his younger, puppy years,
And OH...his many charms.
Today, there was no gentle nudge
With an intense "I love you gaze",
Only a heart thats filled with tears
Remembering our joy filled days.
But an Angel just appeared to me,
And he said, "You should cry no more,
GOD also loves our canine friends,
HE's installed a 'doggy-door"!

So sad guys! I'm sorry! My mother was walking her Black lab at a local park 2 weeks and it suffered a heart attack and died pretty much on the spot. Now we have a 72 year old trying to move her poor dying 125 pound dog. A nice woman helped her out, but.... Yep.... Its sad!
We get so attached! We have 2 ankle biters, one is 14 now, expecting it to pass soon. Hips are going, she has a bum right front wheel already. That will be a sad day....
Take care guys!

Sorry to hear of your loss. We have a 12 year old German Shepherd that could be her twin and his health is slowly declining. Shepherds are awesome dogs and our hearts go out to you.

So sorry for your loss. Our "fur kid" is a beloved member of our family and we will be devastated when he crosses the Rainbow Bridge. But we will all meet our furry friends again some day.
