Hello from newbie in Ohio. Bought mew sun tracker bass buggy pontoon last year and I'm trying to setup a sound system. With all the newest technology I'm thinking streaming radio stations from iPhone with a speaker setup? Does this work well and any input would help me. Right now we just use portable battery radio.

You can stream through the bluetooth to your stereo as long as the stereo supports bluetooth. It works just like the Ford Sync, I stream my internet radio station all the time through it.

You could buy a Jawbone Jambox and just run it off your phone. They are small, battery powered and have surprisingly good sound.

You tune the radio to a unused channel and change the transmitter to that channel and there you go, stream through radio.

Either way will work.

I Bluetooth playlists from my iPhone. Might as well stick with the tunes I like, plus the fact it works really well.

Before I got a new radio for our boat, we used to go real "red-neck". My stepson had left a guitar amp at our house so I'd use it (with a little power inverter connected to an extra battery) and connect our iPod to the amp - worked great.

You need an amp. You can use the phone as a receiver an use the headphone line to the amp and avoid a head unit.

We used to also use it outside of our camper when we were doing BBQ competitions. And we still use it everyday at home -- we listen to the sound of a thunderstorm every night with the iPod hooked to the amp. The great part is it has gotten our Lab over his anxiety about storms now -- he used to try and crawl under the bed when it would storm - now he just sleeps right through them since he's used to the sound of thunder.

I just have an old American made MTX amp running a pair of Polk DB651 speakers with a Blue tooth adaptor plugged into the RCA inputs on the amp, works GREAT. Most local radio stations I listen to stream audio and i use Slacker a lot.

Thanks for all the input! I bought a mini jawbone from Amazon. I c they offer alot of refurbished ones. I strayed away from them and hope I don't have any issues with a new one. I also got a new iPhone 4c with 10g of data. Got my iheart radio stations and Pandora all set up. Noah weather alerts and local radar. I do believe my issue has been rectified. Thanks for the link on the jawbone!

Sounds cool.
It's amazing what sound they can get out of those things. The wife and I are looking at the Beats Big Pill, for our patio and deck. Tired of not having a good stereo outside.

We have the Big Jam Box and love it. This has some amazing sound quality.

From what I've read the power receptacle plug in slot is fragile and break's a lot . That still leaves a charging port from a USB portal. I came close to buying an in dash marine radio/cd unit but went this high technology jawbone jambox with new iPhone and Pandora, inert live radio stations of my choice.
Has anyone noticed this issue with charging portal breaking?
