Black streaks down side from cover snaps.

I have searched for a thread on this,but did not see one. I have quite a few black streaks down the sides of my toon from the cover snaps. Need some advise on something to remove them without harm. Thank you in advance!!

To get rid of them, Simple Green always worked for me. To keep them from ever coming back, remove all your snaps (they are chrome plated brass) and replace them with snaps that are 100 percent stainless. It is a combination of acid rain and dissimilar metals that cause the streaks.
