Awesome toon, and I'm not even a yellow fan but I'd love to have that!

There's a lot of weight to push around. Notice the triple axle trailer? I'd bet low 70's on the mph, maybe a bit faster with half fuel and one person on board. Probably have to burn at least 91 octane with that much compression. If you can find it here at LOTO it's about $5/gallon.
Still a nice looking 'toon!!

I'd hate to think how much has been put into that motor.
Look at the condition of that 7-8 year old boat. Quality boats maintained properly certainly are pieces of gold on the used market. And this is about as good as they get.
I'd still tell anyone to have that motor professionally checked out by a mechanic. Replacing those components would be triple expensive.

Okay here is some reality check.
What a freakin waste to put a ~800 pound carb'd BBC in this boat. And for a "built" BBC to be redlining at 5100, it likely has some power left on the table. I question that power at that RPM anyway. Would have been better off putting in a built LSx motor that is half the weight and has more than enough power to be sending through a single prop.
Im guessing 80MPH or so. What do I base that on? Absolutely nothing.

I am going to guess he is propped for 5100, not relined at. I am propped for 52-5400, but max hp on the dyno was at 6100.I am going to guess that there is a lot more power easy to tap there. But, boat engines are built to hold high rpm's for extended periods of time.My engine builder say we could easily build more power, or run more rpms, but then you risk reliability.JT

Certainly a lot of motor, but the drive looks pretty much stock, 4-blade prop as well, and that middle toon pre-dates the elliptical (ESP) they came out with later. I suppose it's plenty fast, but it's almost 30' of boat with all the goodies. I'm surprised he didn't give a number at all.

I'm 99% sure that this boat is owned by Nascar truck series driver Ron Hornaday Jr., which would explain the engine build etc.

It has the same helm as our 2007 2577. It sure is pretty and about a grand less than we paid for our new one. I'm wondering what pitch prop that is and will that out-drive handle hard hammering.

Drago, you got me to look at the drive pic better, it doesnt even have a drive shower. That could be bad. Prop wise, I run a 24 pitch prop, that has been re cupped to run like a more efficiant 25, so Im gonna say thats at most, a 26. JT
