What shaft length outboard? 2 tubes and strakes?

I have a 2 tube 24' Aqua Patio. 25" tubes with NO strakes. Rite this minute it has a Yami 50Hp outboard on it with a 20" shaft. I have sold the motor and will be replacing it with a 150hp. I also will be installing lifting strakes at roughly the same time. My question is do I want a 25" shaft motor now because of the strakes? It would seem that with the strakes the motor will be much higher in the water at speed. Any thoughts? Are there any straked 2 tube owners that can chime in here? Tri- toons are 25 inch motors correct? Im sure transom design plays a big role in this but for the most part they are 25"?

My expirience, although on v-hulls is that cavitation plate should be 1 to 2 inches below transom base. Strakes won't lift that. 25 inches is a lot below water and will tent to dig prow down - don't want. If not changing transom mount stick with 20 inches. Imo

Hey Rob.
I have a tritoon with a 25" motor. I also have a jack plate which is all the way up. I could probably put a 20 on mine no problem. Come by and take measurements if you want
