Newbie here, just wanted to say thank you to this forum and its members. The information on here was invaluable to me when making our boat purchase decision. I pick up our new tri-toon this weekend. Went with a Party Barge 24 XP3, Merc 150, Power Pole Blade 10ft, Dual batteries with switch and charger, Lowrance HDI Chartplotter/GPS/Depthfinder. Wife and I are excited as hell. The SharkHide is on its way, and already have the 303 waiting. Going to keep it dry stored in a Marina at the coast, with both river and bay access. The only part that stinks is going to be the waiting after applying the sharkhide, But I figure we can sit in it a make engine noises for a few days.

I've seen that boat at the dealership and it is a fine looking toon. I'm sure you will enjoy it. Will you be using the power poles in the bay? I've seen plenty of bass boats with them but never a toon. Well done...

Yup, the bay is the whole reason we got the power pole. Most of the area is 2-4 foot flats up to 3 miles off the mouth of the river, with it opening up to 6-8 deep in some areas. It runs like that for about 10-15 miles in each direction. We like to fish one area for a while then move to another, and its kind of a pain setting and pulling anchors every 45 minutes. We were out in a rental deck boat that had a power pole and loved it verses trying to set the anchor while fishing. Plus there is a submerged sandbar about 3 miles off the mouth of the St. Marks river that is about waist deep and the size of a football field that everyone congregates on after a hot day to have a dip in the water, and having the power pole was so much nicer than setting and retrieving a couple of anchors in the middle of 15 other boats.
