Any toon news from last weekend? Looks like the offshore boats had some trouble and set a new record for top gun at 244 mph.

from what I heard, no new record. the triple outboard Southbay, only did 113, vs the 114 from last year. And Gouty sold his without the engine, so he didnt run. JT

Hopefully they will follow protocol and take the picture of the incident down.

Sad news indeed. RIP

I was on the water on Saturday doing safety patrol and unfortunately I witnessed that terrible incident. I was less than a 1/2 mile from the scene and it was like watching the thing in slow motion. I've seen several videos since and it's always horrific. It looked as though just as he got to the finish line, wind got under the front and then the rest just happened. It had been much windier than forecast, with the wind coming from the south and I'm wondering that since the finish line was at a cove location with a break in the bluffs, if the wind didn't spill down the hill and out into the lake.
My prayers go out to his family.
