Well after the Shop had my toon for almost 4 weeks , they said they were 3 weeks behind,
They called this morn & they finally got it in an patched up my small hole cost was ok only $140.00 to weld up a small spot and then pressure test it.
I will test it out next week in the lake, I am going to rent a tie up spot at the Marina for @$100 a month, that way I won't be running up onto the sand & docking there while the wind rubs it back an forth.

Yea these 4 week waits are a pain. You would think they would hire extra people. Would a car mechanic stay in business with a 4 week wait?
Was it a split or a hole? glad you back afloat.

Had the exact same kind of leak on one of our toons a few years ago. Fact is we also had the same repair also and it held for a couple of years before it failed.

So this spring we found a pretty good tig welder and had it repaired right.

We had the bottom thinned out area of the pontoons overlaid with fresh new aluminum and tig welded in all around the parameter. He then spot tigged in a piece of aluminum angle on top of that for even more extra wear wear. Had him do both pontoons while he was at it, and he charged us a reasonable $200 for the job. So I'm thinking bring on the sand it's going to be quite awhile working it's way through these pontoons again.

It was a small hole up on the bottom of the front cone, so small it took 6 hrs for the 60+ gals of h2o to drain out.
