bow stops

#1 Post by chopper6358 » Sat Sep 20, 2014 9:14 am

i want to change the bow stop on my tracker trailstar trailer. the present bow stop is a rubber v that looks like it should be for a v bow boat instead of a pontoon boat. when i trailer the boat the front deck goes under this until the stern settles on the trailer as its being pulled out of the water..and bends the deck down a bit.i have a suntracker 24 party barge and the forward deck comes to a point, when i rebuild it i plan on squaring of the bow. i would like to change it to a goal post style bow stop. any ideas ?

I no longer have a Tracker trailer but when I did I removed the V stop and had a piece of heavy C Channel welded to the bracket the stop was on then added a 12" 2x4 to each end. I was able to clamp the ladder to the new piece giving it more strength.

I forgot I then moved the winch U bolt to the front giving winch strap more down pull and a hell of a lot easier to get to
