Rail Mount for GPS

#1 Post by Icewoz » Mon Sep 22, 2014 1:15 pm

I'd like to use my Lowrance Elite5 on my pontoon, but don't want to drill into the console to mount it.

I see the Ram-a-can (http://www.themountdepot.com/RAP_299_3_ ... b-102u.htm) mounts but am wondering if anyone has seen any kind of rail mount?

I have a ram mount on my 8 inch hummnbird, it holds good. That seems to have only two screws check for recommended weight.

RAM 1.7" Max Width Clamp Base with 1.5" Diameter Ball This one could be sweet and easily removable also but I can't determine the actual width of the tracking to determine if it would cleanly attach to the fence rail RAM 1.5 Inch Diameter Track Rail Kayak Mounting Base

http://www.rammount.com/CatalogResults/ ... fault.aspx

(1.7 inch clamp)

From the picture it looks at least as wide as the ball (1.5 inch), but its just a picture.

If so it would work I think
