Quadratoon?

#1 Post by TDJ2591 » Sat Oct 04, 2014 1:01 pm

There was a lot of hype leading up to their reveal at PDB Days, but I've heard nothing since. Must not have been the hit it was built up to be. Whaddaya think?

the video made me sick... lousy camera work, all the exciting music in the world wont me like any better,

rolls a lot coming over that wake, the v-toon I get, this looks like it makes the toon handle like a flat bottom boat.

How many logs can you put under it before you just call it a raft?? I think I would rather see the furniture slide out over the water on the side like a camper.

There are things that pontoons do inherently well and with recent commercial advancements, excel beyond what was thought they should do. However there is a point at 'when does the market want more'? Granted, Porsche engineered their way around hanging an engine past the rear axle and making it work, but......pretty costly.

For some reason I think of Jeff Daniels lyric 'you can't drink a fat girl thin' and pontoon boats are are already thick with three logs.

I see thousands of uses for it but non of them that can't be done another way. If it only cost 25.00 then. I still don't think I would pay for one or take one for free. Thats just me.

I can't get the video to work due to a slow connection but in looking at the pictures I just can't see what useful purpose that contraption served?

Interesting concept, but a number of negatives in my mind (aside from the pre-bias of being associated with PDB).
Weight that doesn't really add to the usefulness of the boat. That platform really serves little purpose other than to try to look cool, which it really doesn't accomplish. Maybe fishermen would like the wide open part of it. But with no rail to grab for safety, I see someone going in the water sooner or later.
The supposed convenience of beaching it would likely turn into a big hassle with the rest of the boat bouncing around in the waves just offshore.
I see a failure point in the flex at the junction between the two halves when it is extended. All it took was one guy running around and there were several inches of movement. Can you imagine what a party would do? Or some big cruiser waves? Ccccrrrrraaaccckkk.
Add beaching to that issue and some serious stresses would be placed in the middle.

I'm still a newbie. I've read many negative comments about Tap Fins and about PDB and am curious about the reasons behind the bias. It ought to be interesting. Anything one could share?

Well this forum is here because PDB banned a few of us, some more than one time, but if you said something bad about taps fins it got erased, we asked for years for before and after numbers, should have been easy with all they said they were putting on, never got and answer on that one, they still don't have before and after numbers today.

But most of it was because it we pontooners who made it a great place to be to just shoot the shit and talk toons, but we always had to keep a back up site going, because they would shut the forum down for days just to piss us off, then when obummer stole the election and we told of stories of being run over or treated like shit by minoeity's who thought whites should have had to leave the USA now that the blacks were in control a bunch of us got banned for the last time.

So we took their ball, started our own winning team and never looked back , the back up site became the Pontoon Site to be on :nana :nana :nana :nana
