A question on oil changes

So I have been winterising my 40 horse Mercury. I bought the Napa Gold filter
this year but see that it is about a 1/2in shorter than the Mercury filter. anybody
see a problem with that?? old jim

nope , I don't see any probs I use Fram filters on mine.

I prefer to use a higher quality filter than a Fram.
Fram.com does have a good cross reference chart that can point you to any major manufacturer's comparable oil filter for your application. Sometimes filters are of slightly different heights, but will still work.
No reason to waste money on OEM marine filters that are the same as other filters with different paint.

Been using the Napa gold for several years, they are good filters. You're not running in dusty conditions so the filter capacity shouldn't be an issue.
