Toon's Maiden Voyage

I was able to take the new to me Toon out last weekend for her maiden voyage with my wife; youngest daughter and son whose family had other commitments so couldn’t join us.

I discovered there wasn’t a reverse at the launch but that didn’t stop me. I used the paddle to turn the Toon around and feathered the forward throttle towards the dock where the crew climbed aboard.

Cruised up the Sacramento Delta river found a spot to anchor and fired up the grill. Spent a couple of hours just “chillin” and catching up on the kid’s hectic life.

Talk about relaxed. I haven’t seen him this relaxed for a very long time.

Called it a day and headed back to the launch loaded the Toon and headed home.
The next day I inspected the 50hp Evinrude’s shift cable, made some adjustment and now have reverse!

We currently have a storm brewing for this weekend; otherwise I’d have the Toon back on the water to fully enjoy the day with a “reverse” LOL.

"Chillin",,,,, dats how we roll around here!!!!

I just got a new to me toon and my wife and I have been making a list of place we want to explore,,,, The delta and the Sac river are high on the list. Been thinking I'd like to put the boat in near Sac and go as far north as we can. Mayby as far as Redding if possible. Do you know if that can be done???
Anyway,,,enjoy your new boat :nana

Congratulation on the new toy. You are in boating heaven, I love the Delta and been there many times when I owned the jet skis, 130 miles a day was no problem. We always stayed at the Orwood Resort which is a great marina and camp ground.
Will eventually return with my new toon for sure.
Boat Safe!

Thanks for the warm welcome.
My son lives in the Sac Delta on his boat at Oxbow Marina in the Georgiana Slough,. I plan to slip my Toon there this summer to eliminate towing the 50 miles each way. I also own a 19' Bayrunner Baja that I use to troll for Stripers in the Delta and tow to Bodega Bay trolling for Salmon and Halibut, crabbing for Dungeness and bottom fish for Ling & Rock Cod.
