New Toy for Summer!

Gonna be a great summer with the kids... can hardly wait... Found it on Craigslist in Florida... we've been looking for a little while... got this one for $12,500.00... needed a few repairs... but other wise in good shape...everyone is excited
They were asking $15,000.00... we found a lot of little issues while testing things out... was able to talk them down to $12,500.00... drove it 750 miles home... have almost all of the issues resolved and ready for summer fun camping at the lake! This is one of their craiglist add pictures...
This one shows the layout... 12' slide in the livimg room... small slide in the master bedroom allows for a walk around queen size bed.
Has a 5000 watt Onan generator... Two roof top ac units... Two propane forced air furnaces... Triton V10... F53 chasis... I was looking for a Chevrolet workhorse chasis... but got such a good deal on this one I couldn't pass it up...
It has 48000 miles on it and was running pretty rough... generator ran rough... had a vibration somewhere while driving....most of the hydraulic leveling jacks had issues...
Got it home... began working on it... I knew the motor was running a little lean and it had a rough idle... bought a new Mass air flow sensor... took care of the engine issues... purrs like a litter of kittens... my first Ford and first time dealing with a V10... it has a really cool sound... ten pulses in 360ยบ has a unique sound... reminds me of an exotic car exhaust... I'm fighting the urge for long tube headers and flowmaster mufflers... pray for me!
Tore into the generator... found a cracked exhaust manifold $90.00 from Cummins dealer in Nashville... replaced the manifold... new air filter... plugs, wires, fuel filter, oil and oil filter... runs like new... replaced the exhaust mounting hardware and hanger... stripped it and repainted the exhaust with high heat BBQ grill paint... I've used that paint on several motors over the years... looks good... holds up good... dirt cheap!
The vibration turned out to be a dent in the third driveshaft... $200.00 to get it re-tubed from a driveshaft shop in Nashville... looks like they hit a tire or something out on the road... bent the driveshaft and took out the exhaut pipe past the muffler... they repaired the exhaust but missed the shaft...
Hydraulic leveling jack issues turned out to be solenoids... replaced all 8... problem solved! $300.00... was a pain in the neck to remove the old ones and install the new ones... took me nearly all day to do... had to buy some 18" drill bits to drill new mounting holes... new solenoids had a slightly different foot print than the original ones...
Fixed a whole list of small items... marker lights... interrior lights and storage trunk doors, switches and skylights. We are in the process of adding a dinette sleeper to it... it came with the optional free standing dinette... we need the extra bed... we also had to shorten the width on the sleeper sofa 6" to get both in there.... we should be all ready for camping soon! Can hardly wait... camping at the lake and playing on the toon all day!

and a four speed overdrive trans...it turns 2500 @ approximately 60 to 63mph...
