Just bought my first pontoon. Getting older and don't care for 70 mph boats anymore. Wanted room and luxury now. My question is....it appears that the pontoons have a clear coat on them shark hide or maybe toon brite perhaps. How do I go about cleaning them? Will a pressure washer remove the clear coat?
Thanks in advanced..Todd

Lacquer thinner, rags and elbow grease.

No there not discolored, just some oxidation here and there. I have no idea how long it's been on there. 6 years at the most.

I would try mineral spirits on a rag. If that takes it off without much work I would go that route. If it doesn't , step up to paint or lacquer thinner. Hard to tell what it is but if it's Sharkhide, acetone or lacquer thinner will do the trick. Slather it on and wipe it off. Should come off about as easy as it went on which is pretty easy.
