O-rings and water impeller...

Hello All.
I ordered a rebuild kit for our outboard 2007 Merc 4 stroke 75 hp motor. There are several o rings in the kit, 2 or 3 bigger ones look like they would fit over the main shaft, a little harder washer type, a same size o ring, a "u" shaped (cross section) o ring... The only thing I know I need to use is the main ring that goes over the shaft down to the hole in the can that holds the actual impeller. Am I missing something, do I need to find where and use those other o rings in the kit or do I just use the one that goes over the shaft to the hole in the can. What do you think... Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,
Rich

You got a total rebuild when all you needed was an impeller.

If someone's careful dropping the lower unit and disassembling the water pump, they don't need all the parts in a impeller kit to just change the impeller.

Last time I did the job, I just bought an impeller for about $28 for my old Yamaha 115 hp 2 stroke. Nothing else was required, and it wasn't a difficult job.
