Interesting read on Armor-all vs 303

I know the old formula Armor-all wasn't all that good, seems they may have got it right. I guess I don't use enough of this stuff to really worry about cost savings, but some of you might.

yes, interesting read. How many of you apply a vinyl protector to your boats on a regular basis? How often do you think you need to apply it? (ie how many days in the sun before application)

We used Armour All years ago and it ruined the car dash. I do not care at this point if the formula changed. I would not use it because what if it is not as good as 303? 303 has a good reputation so I will stay with them rather than taking a chance with Armour All.

ArmorAll can suck my canvas. I wouldn't give them another try for love nor money. 303 rules!

I agree. I wouldn't ever use Armor-All ever.

I have 640 sq feet of canvas, 168 sq feet of FRP panels a full vinyl sun deck as well as all my seating. I buy 303 by the galleon and apply it 3 times a year to protect it for the 9 months it is in the Nebraska sun it has held up for 7 years---- maybe I should buy another gallon and put it on are football team.

I read all Bobistheoilguy's discussion threads. The poster is apparently a huge ArmorAll fan and he seems to know all the chemical facts about all protectant products. He even explained how the dashes cracked, saying it's not the fault of the product. The way he described it, it sure sounds like the cracks in the plastic were a result of applying the silicone product. He states that 303 and ArmorAll contain the same chemicals but that ArmorAll has more silicone than 303.

I haven't used ArmorAll in years because every dash I ever put it on cracked and only those with ArmorAll on them cracked. Maybe the formula has changed and it's better now, but I am not ready to test it on my boat seats.

303 all the way. If I get A-all in a gift pack from the kids, it goes on my tires and hard plastic. That's it.

303 is the ticket. It is even the best for your tires.

I still use the 303 instead of Armor-all as well, just thought I'd toss it out there for discussion. :coffee

I use 303 as well after reading the suggestions on this forum. Never thought about applying it to to vinyl floor too...is this recommended?
Thanks,
