Have You Seen This

#1 Post by mofn » Tue May 19, 2015 10:17 am

Last summer at the sand bar, about 50 yards away was a toon leaving when I noticed that the helm chair and steering wheel unit was on a mounted pedestal.
It was say 12" high?
Has anybody seen such a set up? If so, is it a feature/option one of the makers offers? It was just right to give an much better all around view. I thought it would also be great for small storage underneath. Turning what is wasted space into useable space, if given access.

There are several pontoon companies that offer the "raised helm" feature. I think most are in the 6" to 8" range but there may be some 12" high. I know Sun Tracker now has them on their high end model. I wish mine had it, it seems like a great feature.

Thanks for the info, I did not know. When I redeck mine, may add this on. Will try to find a dealer up on the lake that may have a toon with this option. Been too busy with mine to really get to the bottom.

My 1995 Beachcomber had one with a porta potty under it. Wasps and spiders loved it!
