Good buy or not?

#1 Post by Swetzel » Tue May 19, 2015 12:37 pm

Someone is selling a 2010 24 foot Bentley cruiser with a 90hp 4 stroke mercury in excellent condition he does not have a trailer and has all paperwork for maintenance done yearly
He has a neighbor down the street that has a trailer that he uses to bring it to the shop and back he lived on the water and it stayed in the water since 2010 other then the pontoons needing to be cleaned all upholstery and decking looks to be in great shape he is asking $12k
A friend of mine was looking at the condo and he said for $10k more he would throw in the pontoon
I currently own a 2006 21 foot sun tracker with a 60hp 4 stroke Mercury however I need all new seats and decking engine is good and I have that trailer that I could use possibly for the 24 foot if I sold my old one
I have a slip I can keep either boat in as well
My concerns are the engine size and the painted rails and also the price
It seems to be a good deal
I have a 7yr old and a 3yr old so a tube behind it will be in the near future. Will this be possible with that size engine and boat
Thanks in advance
Shad

Hello.
I don't know where you are located but a 2010 Bentley w/ 90 4 stroke hanging on the back for $12K would not last a day here in North Jersey. Especially in good condition. I don't think you will set any speed records but a 90 on a 24' toon should easily handle a tuber. Good luck and post some pictures if you can...

Sincerely,

For $10-$12k sounds like a good deal; less then half price off of a new one. How many hours on the motor?

Unless the motor is toast and the toons are breached, that sounds like a more than reasonable price.
