Replacing fuel sending unit

#1 Post by Tully » Mon May 25, 2015 10:05 am

Have a new fuel sending unit on order. If you have replaced yours, did you install the gasket dry or did you use a sealant?
The one on my Tracker is practically underwater when underway.

Thanks,

I took mine off to clean out the tank during the rebuild last year and put it back dry but it was soft and plyant. Haven't had any issues but a sealant a couldn't hurt , I guess. Something resistant to gasoline.

I was thinking either copper coat or nonhardening permatex.

Thanks for the reply.
