The Premmie has a blown speaker and I'm thinking about replacing them all with a 4 pack of these and may as well pop in an amp while I'm at it. I'm no stereo guru so I need some help, guys. Are these decent speakers? I don't want to overdrive them with too big of an amp, would a 400 watt amp do the trick or should I go 800? I'll be using my existing radio. What do you think, would this work? Or should I look at other options of speakers and amps.....

I've not run those speakers, but the amp going by the specs is well matched its 50 W RMS/channel and the speakers are rated for 65W so no problems there.

I ripped out my factory system and ran all new speaker wiring-I found premier used indoor speaker wiring on my 2013 and it was a factory install. Granted, I had the base 2 speaker Jensen stereo-maybe your pontoon is different. It was probably overkill, but I pulled Ancor marine, duplex tinned 16/2 awg boat wire for speaker wire. I also knew it could handle a bigger amp in the future if I went crazy. I also ran 2, #4 AWG leads (welding cable actually) from the battery output to the positive and negative bus bars under the helm because I didn't trust the factory wiring to two added amps plus all my lighting. My main (factory) and new aux power is protected by Blue Sea marine circuit breakers.

I'm running 4, Infinity 6.5" marine speakers powered by a Kenwood M1804 45w RMS/channel compact marine amp. It's not much bigger than a large smart phone. I have a single 10" Polk marine subwoofer in a custom enclosure with a small Alpine MRV 250 wired up for 2 ohm and 250W rms. Both amps are mounted under the helm and fed by fused power from the bus bars. I'm not a stereo genius, this was actually my most advanced install, but I'm very happy with everything for the price. I used a Kenwood M312BT receiver with a remote located by the swim ladder.
