Door Latch

Been a while since I have posted on here but I figured this would be a good place to ask this question. Does anyone know where I can get one of these door latches?

Last Labor Day Weekend, my buddies wife went through my gate trying to hold onto another pontoon while tying up in a cove. A gust of wind caught the boats and pulled us apart. I was hollering let go, but she thought she could keep them together. Needless to say, she went through the gate sending her and the gate into the lake. Luckily she missed the other boat's pontoon with her head by about 6" (very scary moment and things really can happen in seconds). After we sorted through getting her out of the water and accessing her health, we dove to the bottom of the lake and retrieved my gate. The hinges and door latch were snapped in two. I called Lowe and they still had the hinges in stock so I was able to rivet the gate back on, but they indicated they no longer have access to the latches. I know that I can put other gate latches on, but it would be nice to use the original so they all match on the boat. I have searched all the popular pontoon rebuild sites and cannot find these.

Thanks Nick

Okay, the lift-up latch maybe a hard to find unless you have a real old-time marine store. Perhaps head off to a hardware store and look for latch hardware for wood fence gates?

Thanks for the responses....I was thinking the same thing about door latches for wood fences. If I cannot find anything there, my other thought that came to me last night was to purchase a floor catch for the front gate because of the sliding hinges that go up and down.

People are always fighting it to get it lowered and latched when they get on the boat. Drill that latch off and put it on the side door. I like the ones that are on there for the sides because I have a baby that runs all around inside the boat and with that latch being in the middle of the door, it is strong.
