Grease for new prop?

Our prop got a bit dinged up over the weekend so I was going to put on the spare we have. Looked at a couple videos online to make sure I wouldn't miss doing something obvious and saw that they all were using marine grease on the shaft before putting the new one on.
Do I need to use that? I don't have any at home right now, the closest thing I have is anti-seize.

I use white lithium grease. It wont hurt to do it later. I have seen props almost welded to shaft from never removing and lubing shaft

that's the exact reason for the grease, Never Seize is usually copper based which can cause electrolysis issues, especially if ever used in salt water. As long as there is still some grease on the shaft I leave it alone, I don't put fresh stuff on with every prop swap.

Just use grease, but you may find a aluminum complex is better than a lithium complex in dealing with water.

Thanks everyone. I went to the only nearby marine repair place on my way back from work and got a tube of marine grease for $9.

Here's what I used. Working well so far:
2-4-C Marine Lubericant W/Teflon 8Oz Made my Mercury
