Propeller brands?

I'm getting a new prop to replace an older bent up one. Nothing fancy, just 3 blade aluminum. Are there any brands to avoid/place above others? I'm looking on iboats and thinking of getting a Turning Point Hustler, but I have no loyalty to any particular brand.
Also, I've heard changing diameter by a 1/2" or less doesn't change much, and most of the props on iboat for my motor (90 hp merc 2 stroke) are 1/2" smaller than what I was using (14 to 13.5). Would that change anything?

You are losing about 10% of the area that the prop actually pushes on the water but it gets a lot more complicated in that the 1/2" you lose off of the tip of each blade is the part that travels the fastest through the water thus has the most resistance just getting in position to push the boar forward. There are lots more variables so it really comes down to just trying the new prop and seeing how it works.

I would encourage you to share your boat make/model/year and engine make/model/year in your signature. That way people who see the post who have a similar sized and powered boat/engine combo can maybe offer advice on what they have found that works for their application.

Thanks for the link, I have read that thread in the past. In this case I was more just looking for general advice on what brands were good, or if any stood out over others.
