Decal placement (replacement?) for new Sun Tracker 18

I'd like to get a name decal for my mother's new boat for her birthday. I have permission (from her husband, my dad) to investigate and implement as a surprise, of course. I have two main questions:

1. Any suggestions as to where to put the decal? That boat is already well covered in manufacturer's decals, unfortunately.

2. Is it possible (or even recommended) to remove one of the manufacturer's decals without damaging it? If so, how? Also, it's been in the water this summer...is it possible any noticeable fading has taken place such that removing the decal would leave a "shadow"?

If I could hear from anyone who has done something similar, that would be great. Pictures would be a bonus!

(I'm attaching the manufacturer's photo here for reference, just in case any non-owners have any input)

What is the size of the sticker that you want to apply?
We put our name sticker on the stern panel where there were no SunTracker stickers.
Welcome to the club.

I'm designing the decal, so I can set the size. Was thinking about the stern but does it stand out/remain visible from behind the motor? I guess that's a picky point, but just wondering your thoughts based on your experience.

As far as the welcome to the club, thanks. We're not new boat owners, but we're new to owning a new boat. Kinda nice to have a motor start when you ask it to... (I know that as soon as I say that, it won't. Best two days...)

I ordered my boat's name from Boat US graphics. Plenty of room on the stern. If you need to remove the factory graphics, hard to do without damaging or stretching them. A hair dryer or heat gun (don't overheat the paint) removes them easily though. As for fading, if the boat is relatively new shouldn't be an issue. I have a 22 ft Party Barge. The motor does block the boat name a bit, but only directly to stern. There, now I have the opportunity to share my younger brother's 8 week old chocolate lab's first boat ride :thumbsup

Our sticker is about 1' square and is to the side of the motor so it shows up pretty well.

Nice looking pup, Ed and Ed's brother.

Thanks, all...looks like it's going to be the stern and I won't be removing any factory decals.

I put it on the stern of the "wife's" but did take off the Fishn' Barge lettering to do so.
