I must sell my 2014 Bennington due to an upcoming move. I will probably wait until spring to put it on the market in order to attract more potential buyers. Any rule of thumb or tips on how to establish a reasonable price? I've looked at comparable boats for sale online and at NADA boat site. My cost was 25.3k excluding tax... looks like comparable boats are pricing at about 22.5k. That would be 10% under new. With my eating the tax, I would be taking a 16% haircut.

That's a great place to start. Whenever you price anything for sale at a fair price, it's going to sell much quicker than if you go for the moon and take a deep discount. With a quick sale, you wouldn't have so many expenses like insurance, storage and interest, if applicable.

Many people do start to look now do to the marinas selling off the rental fleet. I'm shocked at how good some of the deals are now, plus they offer a slip for the remainder of the year. Another issue with selling a late model is the banks offer better terms and sometimes rates so alot of people looking used go new in the end. I guess it just comes down to finding the right person at the right time. and be willing to take that haircut. good luck.

I went with NADA, mine is in very good shape, but my bimini top and boot are sunfaded. I am buying brand new Premier parts to keep it factory. It, the motor and trailer book out NADA at 42,000 with the new bimini and boot I am asking 39,000. I can drop a tad, but won't much. I know how the boat runs, rides and the care it has had. I know that doesn't matter to alot of buyers, but it should. Buy a beaten up POS for 35 or buy one that's been givin great care, lived its life out of the weather and when something isn't just right (the bimini) its replaced. Plus the Simons ECU and 3 props. It will make the right person one hell of a boat, as it did Denise and I. The new one may be a ways off from being done, but man, am I excited!
