Yamaha F150 Warranty

The warranty on my 3 year old Yamaha F150 is expiring next month and I received a offer to extend it for 3 Years for $ 1500.00 plus tax. That is kinda steep for something that was sold to me as "bullet Proof". The engine only has around 100 Hours on it at this point. Does anyone think the warranty is a good thing to purchase?

Is this being sold direct from Yamaha or a third party?
Is their a deductible and if so, how much?
Is there anything not covered (other than wear and tear items)?
I like warranties because I don't like surprises. On the other hand, I have never purchased an extended warranty because I once heard something that stuck with me......"the manufacturer is betting that it won't break and you are betting that it will break." A professional better would give odds to the guys that built it.
It all boils down to how much peace-of-mind is worth and if you have enough disposable $$ in your account that a major engine repair will not break the bank.

When my F150 warranty was up last July, I didn't go for the ESP at that price. The F150 has a bullet proof reputation, and Ive had not the first issue with mine.
If I had a SHO, I'd be getting the ESP--for sure.

I bought my center console new with twin F200's, including the extended warranty. Never needed or used the warranty. Regular scheduled maintenance only. Sold the boat after 11 years and 860 hours.

Only issue I ever had under warranty was the power trim relay... Was under warranty, but was 30 part changed in less that 30 mins...Other than that 7 years strong...

I have a 115 hp Yamaha 2 stroke on my old pontoon boat. In 28 years use, I spent a total of $241 for an oil injection electronic module. Otherwise, it was just spark plugs yearly. It pays to do yearly maintenance, and keep'em out of the weather.

When we special ordered our new Toon ( Nov 2014) with a F200 I happened to catch a Yamaha "Special Offer" to give me 3 additional years of full warranty ...... 6 years instead of 3 as long as I took delivery during a 6 week window. The offer wasn't known at the time we placed our order, but I had no problem getting it..... I was within 3 days of the ending date, but did get the package from Yamaha with the 3 extra years.
They stated it was a $2250 value. So I think the amount they are asking for the F150 @ $1500 seems reasonable....... IF you feel the need for it. I too chose Yamaha as these have a "BulletProof" reputation.
If I hadn't caught the Special Offer Extended Warranty at the time, I would NOT be buying it.
