Anyone install one of these on the New Merc Four Strokes 2014/2015? Are they worth the cost and effort to install? Are they plug compatible with just swapping out the cabling?

I just installed the smaller SmartCraft System Monitor on my boat/motor... I purchased the gauge and harness both from Leaders RPM and it was completely plug-n-play. Plugged into the un-used plug on the engine and plugged into the back of the gauge and programmed the unit. It reads Eng Hours, RPM, total fuel used (reset-able) as well as current gallons per hour, oil press, water temp, water press and volts, it will read current trim position. It can also read fuel on hand if tied into the fuel tank, as well as water depth and speed if hooked up. The bigger MercMonitor can do quite a bit more but it also cost quite a bit more...

Thanks. What is the default cable length about 20' or so?

Indeed I think that it was a 20 that I purchased...
There may be a few more readings that the unit can show such as sea water temp/press etc but I had an issue with the operator (me) and the programming so I only had like one 2 hour outing with it functional...
