Need help, please. I've tried many times in the past month to change my email address on this forum and have been unsuccessful.

I've gone under "User Control Panel", then to "Profile", then to "Edit Account Settings", then I go to the upper right side where it shows my old email address....... I go to that location and put in my new email address, and then the next block below that to confirm my new email address. Lastly, at the bottom of that section is where I put in my Password and I hit the Submit button.

I get a message back saying " The email address you entered is not allowed to be used".

It's a @gmail.com address

So what am I missing here????? As stated above, I've tried for over a month to change this.

I'd appreciate some assistance, please.

IIRC, generic email addresses, like gmail, are not allowed on this site. However, an ADMIN will enter it manually for you. My email is a gmail account and they did this for me.

Changing an email address might work smoother after becoming a member.

I am still waiting for my request to initially join using a yahoo account. That was over 6 months ago. Obviously, I gave up and used a non-generic email address. YMMV

Just IM me if you need help with addresses, if I missed it six months ago I'm sorry, we just need to approve free mail on this site

I understand. I just didn't want to expose a personal email address to yet another website. It seems to be fine so far, though. And until someone is a member, I don't think one can IM anyone.

Non members email the forum and we approve their emails for use on forum
