zinc anodes

I just ordered trim tabs and can't find any literature about which zinc anodes to buy. Round, or rectangular, how big, how thick. I have a 19 foot Hurricane 188 with 150 Yamaha, Nauticus 60 trimtabs. Can someone explain these to me and how to pick them out? Thanks

Don't over think them... are you boating salt of fresh? West marine has a bunch of them in various sizes. Bigger won;t hurt anything...I think it's best to find something that will fit your space best. You can use multiple ones and should look to have one on each toon. Once they do their job you will replace them. Hope this helps.
PS: Just to be clear... are you worried about your trim tabs or your toons? I'm guessing both are aluminum...so I'm not sure of your thinking. If your tabs are connected to your toons both would benefit from an anode on your toon. UNLESS you just want to attach small anodes on your trim tabs. If so...just find something that fits nicely on the top of the tabs. Use multiple small ones if necessary.

I never used annodes on my trim tabs and ran the boat 11 years in the Gulf with no issues.

Thanks for the replies. I'm in salt water, dry storage. The article I read made it sound like my boat is doomed without them!

Check out Boatzincs.com. They help me decide. I'm using aluminum as I'm in salt and fresh water.
