Oil Leaking

#1 Post by rickpo » Tue Apr 25, 2017 7:14 pm

I'll just jump right in. 2007 G3 Suncatcher with a 90hp 2 stroke.
I found oil leaking a few weeks ago. It was underneath the oil reservoir. It had pooled up and was leaking down the motor. The reservoir is not leaking. I pulled it off and pressure checked it.
There is also some sort of sensor(?) plugged into it. I see it wet around where the sensor is plugged into the reservoir. Seems like this is a common thing. Any one else experience this? The boat is 10 years old. Can this fix really be as simple as replacing the sensor? They are not cheap. Thanks

I can't offer much help except that I've read a lot about that motor and the oil reservoir, and the sensors and floats sticking in the reservoir.

I haven't had any problems at all, till this year...
Hopefully someone else will chime in.
