I am recarpeting my Fisher 240. It has the permadeck synthetic decking. Does anyone know what type of carpet adhesive should be used on this type of deck.
Any help is appreciated.

If you know the manufacturer's name of the carpet, you might want to look online to see what they say. Or contact customer service at your boat manufacturer to see what they originally used.

Unfortunately, there are many, many different mastics (glues) available for different purposes when it comes to marine carpet and vinyl installation. You just cannot buy one at Home Depot/Lowes and expect it to work.

Unfortunately my boat manufacturer Fisher is no longer around. The carpet I was hoping to buy through Pontoonstuff.com and I don't know the manufacturer but the girl on the phone said their glue will not work and she had no answer for what will work.

So I'm reaching out here hoping there is someone with a similar deck that had experience with installing carpet. I have a couple products I may try but I'm hoping not to have to do this more than once.

From James...

Hi Craig

I'm getting ready to jump on an airplane and don't have my password for the forum on my phone..

This is the response from the carpet manufacturer.

"I would suggest a solvent based and as long as it is also neoprene based, they should be fine."

That type of flooring is very tricky because no moisture gets absorbed so they have to use the right type of glue otherwise it won't stick.

Thank you for the information.
Now what carpet adhesive meets those characteristics?
