Can I keep water out of my armrests--or should I even be concerned?
They're plastic shells covered with open cell foam & vinyl. Probably full of mold n mildew, too.

Heck I had to drill holes in the seat bases on our speedboat as I could hear water trapped. It stunk the high heavens too..

I should drill holes through the bottom, the floor & into daylight?

How is the water getting in there....do you leave your boat uncovered? Most covers leak/breath but none of mine leaked to the point of it causing any issues with water soaking into the furniture.

If you don't want to cover it or it is a pain in the butt to cover it or your cover lets in a lot of rain then grab a couple of BBQ pit covers from Home Depot/Lowes and cover the chairs when not in use.

As for drilling into the deck, I think Teecro was referring to drilling holes in the seat base (not pedestal and not deck) but I could be wrong.

Rain gets into the cup holders whenever it rains, and not covered. Once in there the water seems to stay forever.
Armrest modules sit on the floor--drilling would mean going right thru the deck.

I believe they make cup holders with drains. Might be something to think about.

I was thinking about my rebuild to do something like this and run a tube down and out the back of the base and under the edge of the rail or something.

Never thought of adding a hose to convert those drain holes from a problem to a solution!

When I bought our pontoon, it was left uncovered a month or so before I could get a cover for it, and my seats got the same way yours are, like a sponge. You would sit on it and hear the water wringing out of it and dripping out the bottom. Eventually, it dried out, at least I think it did. I couldn't figure out what else to do either.

I'm surprised this isn't dealt with in the design of the objects.
Can't be good having mildew breeding grounds on every boat made.

The way I look at it if those little holes are there it should go somewhere not just allow it to empty into below. If that where the case I'd just seal them up, and dry them out with a towel instead of allowing it to drain into the base. Just my thinking on that. I figured that was how they were made on purpose. LOL
