hi guys i have another question we are planning on going to the lake this weekend an do some camping. a couple weekends ago when we went we found a nice little cove to hang out in but the wind kept blowing the boat towards the rocks despite my 15lb anchor so how do i keep it in one spot in the middle of the cove ???? i thought about getting 2 5 gallon buckets an filling them with cement and having an eyebolt on the top to attach the ropes to an toss one off each side do they make special anchors for this monster????

thanks

I use a 15 lbs 3 fluted mushroom type that holds me, but it depends on your lake bottom, you do need to give it plenty of line or no anchor will hold, you need to be pulling it sidewards not up.

Pontoons catch a lot of wind so I don't think the 5 gallon buckets will do any thing but slide on the bottom.

I bought a 35 lb. plow anchor for our PC, once it's set the boat doesn't move :tofunny At Canal Days when our 40 plus boat raftup started drifting, mine held tight. The buckets will just get dragged with the boat.

Get a second rope and anchor.

I bought a 35 lb. plow anchor
I know that wasn't cheap.

BMR has a big toon and a lot of side surface area to catch wind and 15 or 20 would do most of us, if you use enough line to it set the anchor

It's heavy, but easy to pull up due to the leverage. I use a 10 lb. danforth for the stern.

I use a 20 lb fluted river anchor. It holds in anything except hard rock bottom. I use 100ft of line and when I drop it I back up to give it plenty of line to grab with. In 25' of water I will use 60 to 70 ft.

I have a danforth as my main anchor and a mushroom to keep me from swinging. works good in most situations...
