Using the dog as bait!

Gonna use that stupid dog as bait! Was out in the back yard and just happened to glance at the back of the boat log. There on the ground was a pile of wires from my transducer, wash down pump, and LED light strips.

Should have learned years ago when the Great Dane chewed through the battery cables to the motor. Had another dog chew up the wires at the hitch a bunch of times.

Got tips for wiring armor? Glue copper pipe to the back end of the log to run wires?

Had a buddy a few years ago whose dog chewed the clutch cable on his motorcycle. He had a shock collar on the dog already - one of the ones with beep, vibrate, and (adjustable level) shock. He walked the dog over and let him sniff the cable. When the dog started to give it a lick, he hit the shock button set just about as high as it would go. It only took one more time when the dog went over to it without him standing there. Zap!

Dog never got close to it again.

I might suggest a full boat walk around tour for the dog. I'm not really a pet person, so my first reaction normally is a question of ammo size. :biggrin2

Those wireless fences keep dogs in....I reckon they can also keep them out if laid right.

A company called Doberman makes motion sensor alarms that squeal pretty loud. You can just set them about anywhere. If something comes by its going to scream.
I always put one in my boat when I have to leave it somewhere. Get on my boat and it goes off when they walk in front of it.
