Aluminum Carport Cover

I am considering purchasing one of those metal carports to park my pontoon under to keep it out of the weather. Can anyone tell me of any problems to avoid with the actual building. I plan to purchase and they install. Are there different gauges of metal (thickness) to purchase or avoid? Anything to avoid as far as frame connection to the ground? Anything else I need to consider?

I have/had several. I prefer the cut welded over the bent tube.
Also I added abunch of extra tiedowns, grabbed a couple pcs of rebar and washers, cut them 3ft long welded washer on the end. And drilled holes in bottom frame and pounded them in until washer was flush with tube.
Def. Have sides come down atleast 3ft so blown water is minimised and you still get great air flow.
Think of orientation to the swing of sun, do you want shade? Then side to side N/S, no shade....open ends to E/W

I plan on adding a carport covering also later this year. How tall are you looking at getting? I have seen some with a 6' opening, 7' and so on.

I bought one and it has been great. Makes a big difference in keeping the boat clean!

What size is that one? 10' x 30' maybe?
