Sharskin removal

How to get rid of this stuff? After 3-4 yrs, it is very streaky and spotty. Have to use Toon-Brite or similar every year because of intense algae accumulation in
Potomac River. I've read from SB that use Laquer Thinner. But hardly budges the stuff. Like to get finish even, then re-polish. Maybe recoat. But have to get even first. Hopefully after that, have a floating lift to keep it out of the algae soup.

Jim.

Lacquer Thinner and rags. It'll get it right off.

After polishing my toons, I worked and worked trying to get a small amount of black aluminum oxide off my toons that I couldn't get off with a dry towel. I scrubbed and scrubbed with lacquer cleaner, and still got black smudges into the Sharkhide.

Finally realized it was easier to just periodically polish the toons with a dual action polisher and White Diamond metal polish. I can do the job in 90 minutes--2 toons, 3 nosecones and the rear end.

And since oxidation starts immediately, I do not polish in the Fall. I do it more like the end of May.
