New Nepallo 20 ft with 90hp Suzuki-Prop ventilation problem

#1 Post by Jlewis50 » Mon May 22, 2023 5:49 pm

My new Nepallo 20 with a 90hp Suzuki is having a prop ventilation issue. With a neutral trim the prop vents at full throttle. With a full load it vents at multiple throttle settings.
The dealer has changed the 3x13.5x15 prop to a 3x14in x 13 pitch.
It has improved my problem but it too vents at full power.

Any easy fix for this as the problem still exists and dealer isn’t exactly on top My problems.

without getting into my details with personal experience ( although I can). More than likely you need to lower the motor. Need to see a picture of the motor at level and the cavitation plate in relation to the motor pod and toons...

pontoons can be notorious for ventilation issues....

Trim is pretty useless on a pontoon. Usually. Yours may be an exception, but on mine, anything more than a little bump causes ventilation.

When you say "full load", I assume full of people/gear front and back. Since it is venting more often with a full load, my bet is also (as jlh3rd said) that the motor is mounted too high. Drop it down a hole and try it out.
