Loud Whistle While Idling

#1 Post by edmcnamara » Tue Jul 24, 2007 4:46 am

I'm new to the pontoon boat stuff. Can anyone tell me what the loud whistle is coming from the boat controls (forward/reverse box) after idling for awhile. Before signing on here I thought it was a carbon monoxide warning signal but I'm starting to think it may be an overheat signal. Anyone know for sure? 1995 Landau Bandit with a Force 70 HP. I'm mixing at 50:1 using 87 octane.

Sounds like an overheat alarm, but could go to something else too, I had a oil injection tank that had a sensor too and it was grounding out when they removed the oil tank and didn't tape off the wires good

Impeller

Most likely it is the heat alarm-replace the impeller and maybe some other water pump parts.
