Wanted to get ya'lls opinion on a new boat purchase.
2010 Sylvan Mirage 8520 FNC
--Twin 25" RPT Tubes
Upgrade on engine to Yamaha 115HP (Max for this boat)
Single Axle Trailer.
Price out the door with TT&L is 27,900.00
They say that with the RPT Tubes and a 115 hp engine, their 22ft model hits 33mph so I would assume that the 20ft model should do that and a bit more.
Any thoughts any of you have would be appreciated. I plan on purchasing tomorrow.

I would think the 115 should push it pretty good!
Sounds like a pretty good deal...Have the dealer toss in all the freebies you can get.
Good luck with the purchase.

Anyone else want to chime in on this?
Mostly concerned with is the price right, and what do you think of Sylvan boats in general.
Thanks in advance,

I don't think that sounds like a bad deal. I bought a bennington2075 GLI with a Yamaha f150 a double axle trailer with breaks ESP and almost every option available for$34000 out the door. The ESP was a $5000 upgrade so I think you could get a Benny for similar $'s. Might be worth checking around a little. I hear sylvan is a nice boat. What is the warranty?

Price is right on. I priced a similar Sylvan this spring. I was looking at the 22 fish & cruise with a 115 E-tec, tandem trailer for $28,000.
I watched a 22 with those pontoons this weekend pulling 2 tubes and a load of passengers very fast. With the load they weren't on plane but moving real nice.
Congrats on the buy
Now pics please

Bennington has the same warranty.

I suspect they mark these things up enough to cover the warranty.
I am finding I can get all the aluminum parts in a 20' custom made boat for $4k or so.

well just to give you some sort of comparison, I bought a Bennington 20SFi fishing barge last October. As someone else stated, benny's have the same warranty as the sylvan. Personally don't know anything about Sylvan's products, but I hear good things about them. Admittedly, my boat dosn't have all the bells and whistles of some of those... ours is a 20 footer, 2 25" pontoons, 3 fishing chairs, live well, am/fm/cd, tilt steering wheel, vinyl decking, 10' bimini top, 75 horse 4 stroke Yamaha and single axle trailer... taxes and all, was just under 21K. I thought I got a pretty good deal, but then again this is the one and only boat that I've ever purchased.

Premier has a similar warranty
Deck, Logs, transom, and seat frames get lifetime
vinyl, carpet, etc 5 yrs
motor warranty is thru motor manufacturer, most are 3 -5 years.

Bennington has a 5 year stem to stern warranty, meaning literrally everything is covered for the 1st five years. The structural components, tubes, rails, sear bases, deck, framing is all covered for life. They don't prorate and handle all issues themselves. After alot of research, I figured out this was the boat for me. I think you have a lot of options in that price range. Why not take a look just to be sure.
