keel protection

I noticed that the keel guards on my Tahoe pontoon stop before the nose cones. Other manufacturers extend this all the way to the tip of the pontoon. My pontoon will spend most of its life on a sand beach here in Northern Ontario. Should I protect this area or I am I over analyzing? Friends have suggesting using a screw in anchor system which they use for their fiberglass boats offshore. I don't think I'd trust this due to the large surface area of the toon. Thanks for helping a newbie!

Toons are made to be beached, I have been doing it for about 4 years now and no problems. Stay away from a rocky beach and you should be fine. I :P when my friends bring there boats and get wet as I just slide right on to the beach.

Love them. Takes two people to put on.
