I need to get one of the young smart nerds to help me get control of the spam sign ups as they know all the tricks as they grew up with computers.

But hell if i have too I could just shut it down for till we need it for back up being how slow it is over here

I always check this site first before going over to the other one. Usually just for one of your good jokes. I soak in all the info on here and on the other one but I'n not very good at giving advise so I usually don't say much.

Wish I could help you with the spam crap but hopefully you will find a way to get rid of it.

I think I finely got him tired or banned most of his IP's he's using.

right not no one can can sign up as he has been using non email addresses .com .

I understand they one guy they put in the slammer for scamming was making 20 thousand a day, but most of the stuff he been putting on our site was junk, but then I didn't check the web sites attached either, but I think I can leave it up and running again.

Everyone owes Herb a big thanks for keeping things clean around here! If I were making any money off this site I would share it with you Herb...

Spammers suck, If I had more time I would dig in and see if I could fix things but I am super busy right now!

You think they would pick on some site with more traffic, but then them sites have wonder kids working them, but us old guys will figure a way sooner or later and maybe they go away again, all coming from outside the USA

Herb, I thought with all the storms rolling through your area that you would have lots of business for repair / cleanup jobs

One would think but I haven't seen it happening yet, or the trouble is so many people are slow, the work is getting sucked up a gone.

Has there been a lot of layoffs there? I heard that house prices are dropping. Maybe they will be afordable again

I updated us to the newest version of PHPBB, this should give us more protection against spammers!

It wasnt as bad as I thought it would be and I dont think we lost anything or any members...

I give up I replied 3 times and keep hitting save and losing it all, I don't like the save button at all, it's where the post button use to be
