I'm sick of the stupid "Y" rope. It's a pain in the A**. I'm a good metal fabricator, so I'm going to build one out of regular metal. I'm not paying the $500 the dealer wants for one.
Basically what Curtis has on his, but I'm gonna make it out of round tubing for more of a factory look. I'll just paint it for this summer, then maybe this winter I'll get it powder coated.
Here is a mock up built out of wood to get all the angles and dimensions. That way I can get a cut list and know all the lengths and angles.

Nice. You could make a few bucks if you decide to custom make them.

The bottom will have a flat iron running from the front support to the rear support. That flat iron will then bolt through the crossmembers.

Sounds like a plan to me, will probably be stronger than the $500 one also, as some of them just bolt through the plywood floor.

im interested in price, fully assembled, powder coated, if you are successful!
OR, you could be generous and provide a 'measured drawing' of the finished product, so the rest of us could measure for fit, then take plans to a fabrication shop for construction.

Yours is different from most I've seen. That's the problem, no two transoms are the same it seems. That's why you can't find any reasonable aftermarket one available. That was the reason for the wood mock up first, so I could picture all the angles and such.

Yea, I put those speakers on this winter. We spend lots of time at beaches, so we are usually behind the boat swimming. Before to hear it in the water you have to crank it, then anyone that is sitting on the boat gets blasted away. I have the speakers on a separate amp, so I can turn them off and on.

Finally got some time to get started on this. Been busy with work, but now since it rained AGAIN, can't get back in the fields for a few days. So figured I could get her done this week. Took about 3-4 hrs to fab it up and weld it. Now just need to figure out some type of rope mount. Then get some paint on it and bolt it on!!!

Haha. I am actually having one built by a guy here in town ( he has the tools, I don't) and it look very similar to yours there. I purchased a ski tow hook online for $13 ( stainless steel ) and I will just bolt it through my tow bar when I get it back home. Might give that a shot.
Looks great by the way, and I'll put pic's up of mine once I get it back too.

Here's some pics of it painted and with the rope mount on.
The rope mount I ended up welding a 3/4" bolt (cut the head off) to the top bar with a slight angle forward to keep the rope from trying to jump off. Then I found a bushing and put some washers on each side of it with a lock nut on top. This way the bushing can swivel so it doesn't wear out the rope.
