OK back to our story:
Surgical procedure


Sort of level. It's gonna change when all the big women get on. If my weenie rolls off, I guess it's better than having it roll ON


Cooking position. I had to get my parking meter in the shot. Aaaand yes I already put a dime in for the summer.


It is a Kuuma Stow'n'Go 160. Discontinued but just the right size (and much cheaper than the Magmas). I haven't made any food with it yet, but it runs HOT I can tell. There is a burner adjustment screw to turn it down at idle.


Stowed just flush with the rail. You can't see the little angle brace under it, but it should ride pretty solid. When in cooking postion there is a tiny bit of flex, but not enough to be an issue.


All that I have left to do is hook up a permanent hose to my 20# tank already on board for my heater. Gee, it happens to be right underneath the stove. Go figure. I'm likin' it. Should be very fast and easy to feed my tipsy friends.

Now I've seen some really bad advice on the internet before but that just takes the cake. Some people just know enough to be dangerous, but they cannot keep their mouth shut when they da#% well should. ... -- that's just stupid.

I speak from experience. Here's a pic of a stainless downrigger mount the previous owner mounted on an aluminum Bayrunner boat I bought. Fortunately they were on only for a few months before I removed them, then placed a "gasket" between the two surfaces.

I read the same article. Good stuff. I think the important words from the article to note are 'in the presence of an electrolyte'. So yes, water is an electrolyte, but only very mild. Add acid (car batteries) or sea-salt and then the galvanic potential increases a lot.
Did you happen to spend any time in the ocean, Seon? I would be surprised to see this rust in fresh water, but all things are possible.
I'm gonna take my chances and keep an eye on my mount. It shouldn't get wet much, if at all.
