honda outboard control feel

#1 Post by ducati1212 » Mon Jun 22, 2015 4:17 am

My 20 avalon has a 90 honda outboard and I have a question about the control lever. Its a little loose in that if I put the boat to say 5000 RPM when I take my hand off the control it goes back down.

Is there just a way to tighten up the control lever so it has more resistance

Thanks

Yep. They all have a 'friction screw' that needs to be tightened just a bit. You will have to look around for it or get a diagram. It's usually at the front or rear of the box. Good luck.

I think this is what you are needing.

ahhh nice I have the top mount and was not finding much info I thought it had no adjuster. So its under the top cover I need to remove that and then adjust.
