covers for speaker box, fuel tank compartment cover and battery compartment cover
I have 3/4 inch plywood covers for those boxes covered with outdoor carpet. I would like to put something else there - a different material maybe like plastic or something but it has to be durable. I had rather have sometthing other than outdoor carpet. Any suggestions.

you could use some HDPE stuff (what cutting boards are made of). do you have a picture of the covers on now? it might give us some other ideas

We are using the cutting board to mount my throttle on my fence and also to make a new top for the console

How does that work in the sun?
What thickness did you get?
Did you use marine grade?
Where did you get it.
Thanks for the help.

We only needed two pieces. We bought actual cutting boards from Sams Club.. If I remember less than $6 each.
Re: covers for speaker box, fuel tank compartment cover and battery compartment cover
I've used a product called King Starboard before, got it at a local plastics supply house, comes in different colors and thicknesses from 1/4" to 1 1/2" and cuts like butter with a table saw. I don't remember it being all that cheap though

It can warp in the sun if not supported properly, but generally no issue.

1/2"

Standard grade, 4x8' sheet was $170 so plenty left over for drink holders, shelving, etc.
Where did you get it.
A plastics place in Knoxville tn

KIng Starboard is more expensive, but it's the true marine version of HDPE. It has a slightly different chemical makeup, with added UV inhibitors. It tends to not dry out and get brittle like standard HDPE does over time. "Cheap" HDPE is fine to use for areas that aren't exposed to the sun all the time, but in the long run King Starboard will hold up better in sunlight.

That is what I am going with. I think I will go with 1/2 inch thickness. I was going 3/4 as the the boards used were but I think 1*/2 will be fine. going to use these hinges where needed: https://www.amazon.com/M-ARINE-BABY-Mar ... 268&sr=8-6steve1313 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 10, 2020 2:17 amKIng Starboard is more expensive, but it's the true marine version of HDPE. If you decide you need piano hinges, this vendor has them the cheapest I could find. They are not polished though, just mill stock:

If you are going to route the edges & unless you have a router table, get a shank router bit(the one with a roller on it) like this:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1-4-Radius-Rou ... SwEDhdC9om
As long as your cuts are straight, the roller will follow and make a clean straight route.

Re: covers for speaker box, fuel tank compartment cover and battery compartment cover
The covers are irregular in shape. One has 3 different angles. one has a large diameter curve and the other has two smaller diameter curves. Will that bit work with curves (not real sharp curves)
Thanks for your help.
