I would never discharge ANYTHING anyway. Other than mis-thrown beads and an occasional dropped cell phone.

I'm updating or otherwise posting a retraction of sorts, after a bit more research into the subject I found an Ohio specific rule written on the subject of Sanitary Systems. I boat in the Rivers in bold below so I'm still ok with the setup in my boat, but the real regulations on this subject are elusive to say the least. So anyone objecting or stating legality one way or another may very well be "right" so carefully check the laws pertaining your particular boating resource or waters.
Vessel Sanitary Systems
(ORC 1547.33)
Except on Lake Erie, the Muskingum River and the Ohio River, no person shall launch, moor, dock, operate or permit to be operated any vessel with a sink, toilet, or sanitary system capable of discharging urine, fecal matter, contents of a chemical commode, kitchen wastes, laundry wastes, slop sink drainage, or other household wastes into the waters in this state. Such a sink, toilet, or sanitary system shall be removed, sealed or made to drain into a tank or reservoir that can be carried or pumped ashore for disposal in an approved sewage treatment works.

I heard the same thing for the Chesapeake, but can't find it of course. Next time I see a CG at my marina, I'll ask. That'll be April though.
On my marina contract it does in fact say ZERO discharge, even an oily slick from a dirty bilge gets you a CG fine.
Also it's illegal to piss overboard, I know this because the drunks at Canal Days get screamed at by the CG, local cops and DNR.
