Not sure how to answer this one. I contacted the guy for a new plate and he asked me what I would like it to say.

I have read all the threads regarding hp ratings, legal issues and such and have decided this would be the best way to go about my build. Once the boat is done I will inform my insurance agent about the upgrades and changes to the boat, to keep that aspect legit.

Works for me, you probably have put more engineering knowledge into those ratings than most boats come with!

Last night I purchased a Johnson 2.6GT 235hp motor for the boat. Heading up north to pick it up on friday.
Still waiting on the tube to be finished, until the tube is ready I have tons of wiring to do.
Also scored a few deals off ebay for a hydraulic steering cylinder and helm pump.

Spent the weekend going through the new motor, changed lower unit lube, plugs, inspected cylinder walls........
Running good and ready to go on the back of the new tube once its done.

Dropped the hyd. steering cylinder off at the fab shop to have a mounting hole filled/moved for the steering arm. Checked on the tube, the transom plate is welded on and all thats left is bracing and closing it back up. I made the mistake when I dropped it off by telling them it was no rush.

I greased the guy thats building the center tube for me, so Im hoping that was a little motivation for him.

The motor stand is my neighbors that he built for v4-v6 motors, he is big into outboards and probably has 6-8 in his garage at any time.

Stopped at the fab shop this morning to get another look at the progress. Looks like its just about done, only thing left is to make a top plate that will bolt on with some silicone to seal out the water.
The transom plate is 3/8" plate
The square tubes running from the bottom of the transom plate to the top of the tube are 2" sqare tube
The tubes on the side that run parallel to the tube from the transom plate forward are 1.5" square tube
The front plate that the side and angled tubes are attached to is 2"x6" rectangle tubing.

The best part is that they recycled material from other projects to save money!!

As soon as the center tube gets hung I plan to skin the under side of the deck from front to back.
